Angels Go For Sweep of Jays

by @ 9:57 am. Filed under 2008 Angels

The Angels will get the sweep with a win today against the Jays as they send Ervin Santana to the mound.

Joe Saunders comes before Santana in the rotation and was scheduled to pitch today, but Saunders has been struggling with the flu so Santana is moved up to make the start. Santana ended his perfect 6-0 record in his last outing against the Dodgers, where he was tagged for four runs through six, but still sports a nice 2.97 ERA. The Angels will face A.J. Burnett, who stands at 4-4 with a 4.71 ERA.

An Angels victory would complete their first sweep of the Jays in Toronto since July of 2004. A win would also set them at a four-game winning streak before heading into Chicago to face the White Sox this weekend.
