Angels-Jays Preview

by @ 6:18 pm. Filed under 2008 Angels, Angels Season Lookbacks

The Angels took two of three from the A’s to give themselves a 5 1/2 game lead in the division and open a series with the Jays on Friday, who are last place in the AL East.

Jered Weaver is pitching his first game since his “no-hitter” against the Dodgers on Saturday. It resulted in a loss but he looks for a win on Friday to even his record at .500. He will face AJ Burnett, who is 8-7 with a 4.74 ERA. Burnett has an ERA under 1 in his last two starts, including a season-high 11 strikeouts in his last start.

The Angels have won four of six against the Jays this year and the Jays come to Angel Stadium with 2-9 road record in their last eleven.
