Angels Look to Continue Success Against NL

by @ 8:53 am. Filed under 2008 Angels, Angels Season Lookbacks

The Angels continue their homestand by hosting the Braves this weekend for a three-game Interleague series, the first time in three years that the two clubs are meeting. In their past 23 games against National League teams, the Angels are 18-5.

The Angels will send Jon Garland to the mound to face the Braves for the first time in his career. Garland hasn’t seen a loss since April 28, and is 8-11 in Interlegaue Play. He will face lefty Jo-Jo Reyes, who is 2-4 with a 4.80 ERA and has lost his last three straight decisions.

The Angels, who hold the best record in the AL, will look to add losses to the Braves’ road record, which at 7-24 is the worst in both leagues. The Angels have also won the past two straight will the Braves have a six-game losing streak.
