Angels-Nationals Preview

by @ 7:58 pm. Filed under 2008 Angels, Angels Season Lookbacks

The Angels are 3-0 on this road trip and head to D.C. to take on the Nationals, their first time playing at the nation’s capital since 1971, in their second of three Interleague series on this road trip.

John Lackey will take the mound and looks for his fifth win after coming off a 7-plus one-run win against the Mets on Tuesday. Lackey’s ERA is now at 1.73 and sports a 2.81 ERA in 19 appearances in Interleague play. He will face Jason Bergmann, who has an ERA over five and has lost his last five straight decisions.

Vlad will look to rough up Bergmann and continue his hot streak. He has a 13 game hit streak going, and is batting .500 with 3 homeruns in the past three games alone. He is hitting over .400 in the month of June, and his average is creeping closer to .300, it’s now at 2.90.
