Angels-Phillies Preview

by @ 8:35 am. Filed under 2008 Angels, Angels Season Lookbacks

The Angels head out for a nine-game Interleague roadtrip beginning with the Phillies in Philadelphia tonight.

Ervin Santana will take the mound to help the Angels get their first series win after dropping the last two. Santana is going for his ninth win and has never faced the Phillies. He will face Adam Eaton, who is 2-4 with a 4.57 ERA.

Heading to a National League park of course means no DH. Scioscia is expected to keep Vlad in right and Torii Hunter in center with Gary Matthews Jr. and Garret Anderson switching off in left.

Erick Aybar was also activated and started in Wednesday’s game in place of Maicer Izturis. Izturis has had some soreness in his hamstring but two days off will likely allow him to feel healthy enough to start tonight.
