The Angels return to Angel Stadium after a 5-1 roadtrip to Seattle and Oakland. They will host the Rays beginning today, who stand just 1 1/2 behind Boston in the AL East.
The Angels had a seven-game win streak snapped in the 12th on Sunday, but hope to beginning another win streak by sending Joe Saunders to the mound. Saunders is searching for his AL-leading 10th win. One of Sauners only two losses this season came agains the Rays on May 10, though he only gave up one run through six. He will face Edwin Jackson, who is 3-5 with a 3.95 ERA.
Chone Figgins will also make a rehab start today for Triple-A Salt Lake. He should play three games with Salt Lake this week and be back with the team for Friday’s series opener against the Braves.
