The Angels host the Orioles tonight at 7:05 to close out their homestand. This is the first Angels-Orioles matchup this season, and the Orioles have been quite the surprise in the AL, just one game behind first in the East.
Jered Weaver will get the start against RHP Jeremy Gutherie. Weaver stands at 2-3 with a 4.21 ERA, and is 2-0 career against the Orioles. Gutherie is winless this season and winless in two starts against the Angels.

Maicer Izturis was placed on the 15 day DL, due to a lower back strain suffered in Sunday’s game in Detroit. The move made room for Nick Adenhart, who started last night and will start again on Tuesday.
Infielder Matt Brown was optioned to Triple-A Salt Lake, and outfielder Reggie Willis was recalled. Willis should see some playing time in the outfield, likely giving the slumping Vlad Guerrero a rest.
Second baseman Howie Kendrick was expected to have a rehab assignment this weekend. The rehab assignment has been postponed for at least a few days as Kendrick continues work outs and evaluations.
Kelvim Escobar was also moved from the 15 to 60 day DL. He is still continuing his light throwing sessions and strengthening program.
