The All-Star Game isn’t until July 15 in New York, but online voting has already begun.
Vladimir Guerrero is always a League-wide fan favorite for the outfield. Sharing the outfield ballot with Guerrero is Torii Hunter and Gary Matthews Jr. That leaves Garrett Anderson listed as DH on the ballot. Guerrero, Matthews, and Anderson have shared the outfield and DH roles all season, but low numbers for the DH’s this year-including just a .163 BA-is troubling the Angels batting lineup, and may affect the fans’ votes.
Other Angels on the ballot: Casey Kotchman at first, Howie Kendrick at second, Maicer Izturis at short, Chone Figgins at third, and Mike Napoli at catcher. You could say that shortstop Erick Aybar got snubbed from being on the ballot, after performing well all season in place of the injured Kendrick.
