On Wednesday, Bud Selig finally and officially announced that the Angels will host the 2010 All-Star Game at Angel Stadium.
The year 2010 will also highlight the Angel organization’s 50th anniversary and the 45th year playing at Angel Stadium.
The All-Star Game is the 81st of MLB and will be the third held in Anaheim. The previous two came in 1967 and 1989. 2010’s will be held on July 13th.
As for the 2008 ASG in New York, the only Angel leading the ballots is Vlad, who stands at third for an outfield position. The Yankees, Red Sox, and Tigers seem to be dominating the ballot as of now, but voting is open until July 2.
