Lackey To Make 2008 Debut

by @ 11:12 am. Filed under 2008 Angels

John Lackey has been activated for tonight’s game to make his first start of the season after being out for a strained triceps. The addition of Lackey forced Kendry Morales to be optioned to Salt Lake.

All eyes will be on Lackey, who was a top candidate for last year’s Cy Young Award with 19 wins and a 3.01 ERA. Lackey has made three starts at Class A Rancho Cucamongo and an extended spring training start last Friday. Lackey is 3-4 lifetime in nine starts against the White Sox.

The White Sox have Jose Contreras starting, who is 3-3 with a 3.66 ERA. He allowed just one run in his last outing and is 4-3 lifetime against the Angels.
