Trio of Angel Pitchers Voted to All-Star Team

by @ 1:32 pm. Filed under 2008 Angels, Angels Season Lookbacks

Joe Saunders, Ervin Santana, and Francisco Rodriquez have all been voted to the AL All-Star Team. That’s three AngelsĀ of the 12 AL pitchers that got the All-Star nod. Saunders finished second and Santana fourth in starters’ voting while K-Rod led all relief pitchers with his MLB-leading 34 saves.

This is the first time that the Angels have sent three pitchers to the All-Star Game. No position players were selected, leaving out Vlad Guerrero, who was an outfield starter for the AL for the past four years. Vlad will have a chance at the Home Run Derby again after winning it all last year.

I was really hoping Torii was going to make it. I know he was a long shot, but I love the guy! I entered a contest to meet him at drinkpurple.com… wish me luck!!
